In Shift at Midnight, you play the cashier at a late-night gas station, and every choice you make determines more than whether you survive until morning—it also decides your ultimate fate.

The game currently has 3 known endings: 1 standard good ending, 1 bad ending, and 1 hidden “true ending.” Below is the complete guide to triggering each one.

🌅 Ending One: Dawn Breaks (The Standard Good Ending)

Difficulty: ⭐⭐

This is the ending most players will unlock on their first successful run. All you need to do is keep your head down and perform your duties by the book.

• Requirements:
  1. Survive all 5 night shifts and make it to 6:00 AM each time.
  2. Do not allow a single Doppelganger or other lethal anomaly into the convenience store.
  3. Keep the gas station's finances balanced and avoid being fired for excessive deductions.
• Ending scene: Your morning-shift coworker walks through the door and complains about the awful weather. Exhausted, you clock out and head toward your car. You made it out alive, but the gas station's secrets remain buried in the darkness.

💀 Ending Two: One of Them (The Bad Ending)

Difficulty: ⭐ (usually triggered by a misclick)

This is the easiest ending to stumble into when stress or exhaustion gets the better of you.

• Requirements:
  1. Fail to see through a Doppelganger's disguise on any night.
  2. Press the unlock button and let the Doppelganger into the convenience store, or hand an item to it outside.
• Ending scene: The screen cuts to black as the sickening sound of bones snapping fills the darkness. The next morning, your coworker finds “you” behind the register, smiling as you greet them—but “your” eyes no longer blink.

👁️‍🗨️ Ending Three: Top-Secret File / The True Secret Ending

Difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Only the most observant—and the boldest—players can uncover the horrifying truth buried beneath this late-night gas station. You must collect a specific set of clues and complete a hidden puzzle.

• Requirements:
  1. Collect the tapes: Between Night 2 and Night 4, give a specific “mysterious man in black” customer his purchase for free to receive 3 hidden VHS tapes.
  2. Recover the basement code: At 3:00 AM on Night 5, play every tape on the old VCR in the employee break room to extract the hidden 4-digit code.
  3. Give up your escape: At 5:55 AM on Night 5, just before you would normally finish the game, do not wait at the register. Use the code to open the basement's metal door deep inside the convenience store's storage room, then step through it.
• Ending scene: You discover that the basement is actually a vast surveillance room for containing anomalous creatures—and that your supposed job was nothing more than a stress test measuring how humans respond to the fear of the unknown.
